About Us:

We Are OMI is a neighborhood group dedicated to supporting the OMI community through promoting neighborhood pride, beautification, solidarity, and safety.

We formed Friends of the OMI Mini Parks, a SF Parks Alliance Community Network Partner, in order to support the local green spaces that they feel are vital to building and maintaining strong communities. The mini parks that they help steward include:

We believe that parks are public goods meant to serve the community. As stakeholders in the OMI, we recognize the importance of our role as park stewards to ensure that these spaces continue to thrive and serve the community as intended.

Get Involved:

Please join us for neighborhood clean-ups and community building events where you can get to know  your neighbors, local businesses, and other OMI community-based organizations and leadership. Support us with your time or make a monetary donation, we are grateful for both equally!

Show some love for the OMI and support our vital work, purchase a t shirt or hoodie today! All Proceeds support our parks projects and programming. Choose from a variety of styles, colors and sizes.

Our Work

Our Process

1.

Understand

In the jungle, things grow wild, that is the beauty of a jungle. Sometimes, the jungle can go out of balance and needs help to maintain it’s beauty and ensure all things can thrive. The jungle is in harmony when all things work in unison.

2.

Imagine

In the urban jungle, sometimes our hedges get overgrown, they need care and regular trimming. Maybe you don’t have any clippers…but your neighbor has clippers. They see your hedges need a trim and do it for you, because it’s important to trim our hedges. It’s how we keep things looking fresh!

3.

Build

If we don’t look for opportunities to help our community, we may not see them. When we work together, we can do incredible things. More hands make lighter work! To work together, we must first build community. When we build community, we increase our collective joy.

4.

Create

Surround yourself with the positive energy, beautiful people, kind souls and generous hearts of your community. Meet your neighbors, get to know them, look for yourself in them. See the beauty in what is possible then make it so!

We are all in this together.

Let’s work together.
